Terbinafine hydrochloride is a kind of broad-spectrum antifungal agent for dermatology of acrylamide.It was successfully developed by Novartis Pharma in 1980s and was first listed in the UK in 1991.In 1996 Terbinafine hydrochloride was approved  as OTC drugs by the United States FDA , the same year listed in the United States. Currently, it is sold in more than 90 countries around the world.Terbinafine hydrochloride specifically perturbs the late biodegradation of fungal sterols and selectively inhibits the activity of the fungal squalene epoxidase, blocking the epoxidation of squalene in the fungal cell membrane formation process. Through this process it can kill or inhibit the role of fungi. It is not only suitable for the treatment of cutaneous candidiasis, such as hand ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch, body ringworm and pityriasis versicolor, but also the best medication for onychomycosis.

In 2000, terbinafine hydrochloride entered the first OTC list published by the state. This product is anti-fungal drugs. It has a strong effect on superficial fungal infections, topical skin diseases can be cured most of the skin.
