Sodium sulphate (Na2SO4) is a kind of salt generated by sulphate and sodium ion. Sodium sulphate dissolves in water and its aqueous solution is weakly alkaline, it is soluble in glycerol and insoluble in ethanol.

Its appearance is colorless, transparent, large crystalline or granular small crystals. It mainly used in the manufacture of water glass, glass, enamel, pulp, refrigerant mixture, detergent, desiccant, dye thinner, analytical chemistry, pharmaceuticals, feed and so on.When exposed at 241 ℃, sodium sulfate will be transformed into hexagonal crystals. Sodium sulfate is one of the most commonly used post-treatment desiccants in organic synthesis labs.
