Chemical Company announced that it will raise the price of Macrolex and Ceres branded solvent dye products globally and the amount is up to 20% with immediate effect.  International GmbH on February 1 raised all the world’s price of titanium dioxide, carbon black, pigments, dyes and several additives and masterbatch mixed product, the amount may up to 8%.

First, the pressure of cost on Lanxess,a chemical company, forces it to rise price —-  The company said that the price adjustment will mainly affect the plastic manufacturing and solvent industry in the automotive industry. Affected by rising prices of raw material and environmental, health, safety and maintenance costs, the increasing price is imperative.

Macrolex and Ceres brand of solvent dyes are mainly used in the  coloring amorphous thermoplastic (PS), polycarbonate (PC), polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic.

Second, the prices of paint and dye simultaneously increase

Domestic dye industry can be described as internal and external difficulties, affected by environmental protection, the domestic start-up volume is limited ,which lead to less dye supply and low inventory. For example, all discontinued! Tianjin solvent-based paint manufacturers all discontinued!

Under the condition of certain market demand, the domestic environmental protection situation is tightening day by day. The government’s thunder tactics make the domestic heavily polluted and non-standard dye manufacturers vanish, resulting in a shortage of domestic supply. To make up for the shortage of dye supply, the demand for foreign dyes will inevitably increase It is estimated that there will be an upward trend in prices in the later period.

Third, the price of domestic disperse dyes has just skyrocketed once, the latter part of the dye market is expected to continue rising.

Pre-due to environmental and other factors, the joint development of Shaoxing Lianfa, Hangzhou Yutian two medium-sized disperse dyes business has been shut down.Recently, the explosion of chemical companies in Jiangsu led to rising prices of disperse dyes and related intermediates. At the same time, Lianyungang and Yancheng scattered disperse dyes manufacturing enterprises continued to strengthen their safety supervision and control, and some leading manufacturers have been discontinued, resulting in the shortage of dye supply.

On December 24, the Central Second Environmental Protection Inspector Group made feedback to Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government. Inspectors pointed out that remarkable achievements have been made in ecological and environmental protection in Zhejiang Province. However, some areas and regional environmental problems are still outstanding. There is still a gap between the ardent demand of the Central Government and the higher expectations of the masses. The main problems are the following:

1.Pressure conduction is not in place, the work is not balanced enough.

2.Marine ecological damage and pollution remain prominent.

3.There are weak links in environmental infrastructure construction.

From January 1, 2018, the environmental tax will also be formally implemented. The cost for the dye manufacturer to step up environmental protection and upgrading will continue to increase. Environmental remediation will remain a highlight in 2018.

To sum up, with the concentration of disperse dyes industry to further enhance the conflict and the continuation of the contradiction between supply and demand, the market outlook is expected to disperse dyes may remain high.
